Linking your phone number makes it easier to find your friends.
When linked, your account will be recommended to your friends, displaying your username and the name registered in that user's contacts.
To hide your account from appearing in other users' recommendation lists, go to Profile > Settings > Privacy and turn off "Allow my contacts to find me."
